Meet Patti – Whole-istic Therapy, Sun Prairie, WI

I’m Patti, founder of Whole-istic Therapy, a licensed Mental Health Service Provider based in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. My passion is helping people navigate life’s most challenging transitions with clarity, compassion, and evidence-based care. Every client’s story is unique, so I provide counseling and psychological services that are personalized, practical, and deeply supportive.

About Me

“If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.” – Maya Angelou

Taking the first step toward change takes courage—so congratulations on beginning your journey toward a stronger, healthier version of yourself.

I grew up in central Wisconsin and have always been drawn to helping others face change—whether it arrives like a tidal wave or unfolds slowly over time. My role is to guide you through life’s transitions, helping you find direction, strength, and balance along the way.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC), I’ve worked with individuals and families healing from addiction, depression, trauma, and anxiety. My professional journey is also personal: as both the child of an alcoholic and the mother of someone in recovery, I understand firsthand how life’s struggles can shape—and strengthen—us.

After two decades in a different career, I followed my calling to mental health work. I earned my Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater and trained in Holistic Massage Therapy to deepen my understanding of the mind-body connection. My therapeutic style is integrative, blending Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while embracing the philosophy to “meet you where you are.”

I aim to create a supportive, non-judgmental space where clients can explore, grow, and heal through open and honest communication.

Who I Work With

I work with individuals, couples, and families facing issues such as anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I’m also honored to serve the LGBTQ+ community, helping clients navigate identity development, family relationships, workplace dynamics, and the unique experience of parenting LGBTQ+ children.

My Approach

My goal is to walk alongside you—to help you identify unhelpful patterns, manage emotions, build resilience, and move forward with purpose. Whether you’re coping with grief, overcoming trauma, preventing relapse, or seeking deeper self-understanding, we’ll work together to find your best path forward.

Sadie S. Spooner

Psychotherapist
National Certified Counselor
Mental Health Professional

I have been working in mental health since 2017, when I obtained my masters in counseling.  Prior to that, I worked with children on the autism spectrum (ASD). I am comfortable working with all ages and a wide range of presenting problems.  I do some of my best work supporting those who struggle with codependency, self-esteem, PTSD and/or trauma.

.

I cannot say enough good things about how much Sadie has helped me during the past several months.  I have been dealing with C-PTSD most of my life, and sometimes when you live with something like this you do not realize how bad it is until things start falling apart.  I went to another therapist and was just not getting anywhere.

Sadie listens, understands, and is attuned to what I am dealing with.  I can tell that she is right there with me, to help me heal.  It has been difficult many times to have to work through years of trauma, but I look forward to every session.  I feel results after every session of EMDR, and I feel myself moving forward because she knows what she is doing. I also know she cares, has empathy, is honest with me, my feelings are validated, she is non-judgmental, and takes joy herself in seeing me moving forward.

Written on 10-02-25 by B.L. after seeing Sadie for about 4 months for C-PTSD and all the problems associated with it.
